Cold Creek Moto Park

Port Alberni, BC
Location
Port Alberni, BC
Terrain
Three distinct riding areas. Main MX track: ~1.5km, described as very flowy, with a pro double jump and a finish-line tabletop. Enduro-cross track: ~3.5km loop with six joker lanes, technical obstacles, and single-track sections. Pit-bike/peewee track: small, lit, beginner-oriented with full parental visibility. Set in the Cherry Creek area of the Alberni Valley on Vancouver Island; PNW climate means soil/conditions are moisture-dependent and seasonal.
Best for
Mixed-ability groups and families. Beginners and kids on the lit pit-bike/peewee track, intermediates and racers on the flowy main loop, and off-road/enduro riders on the enduro-cross course. Good fit for a destination clinic given on-site camping, though Vancouver Island access and PNW weather should be planned around.

What riders say

AVMX Cold Creek Moto Park is run by the Alberni Valley (Cold Creek) Motocross Association, a non-profit club based in the Cherry Creek area of Port Alberni on Vancouver Island, BC. It is presented as a welcoming, family-oriented community club for riders and racers of all ages and skill levels, with beginners explicitly invited to join. The track is part of the Vancouver Island Motocross (VIMX) Island Series race rotation, so it sees real competition use alongside open practice. Access is membership/day-pass based: day passes run about $35 per rider (purchased online), and annual membership comes with a gate key for anytime riding plus free camping.

The facility is genuinely multi-track. The main motocross loop is roughly 1.5 km and described as very flowy, with notable features including a pro double and a finish-line tabletop. There is a separate enduro-cross loop (about 3.5 km) built with joker lanes, obstacles, and single-track sections, plus a lit pit-bike/peewee track designed for younger and beginner riders with good parental sightlines. Trackside amenities include a covered area, a firepit, lights on the small-wheel track, and on-site camping, which makes it well suited to a full-day or destination visit. The surrounding Alberni Valley also offers extensive trail riding.

Sentiment from the club's own channels and the regional tourism listing is consistently positive about the community feel, the variety of tracks for mixed-ability groups, and the camping/race atmosphere. As a Vancouver Island club track, riders simply plan around seasonal Pacific Northwest weather, and the club routes track-condition and race updates through its Facebook and Instagram.
