FAQs
No age limit or minimum. However, we ask that young riders be able to go through the track and ride without parent help. Ideally, they can pick up their own bikes if they fall.
Unfortunately, for any camps outside of our home base of Austin, Texas, we do not rent bikes. However, you can contact us and we can try to source you a bike from the local area.
We offer no refunds within 30 days of the camp. However, we can offer a camp credit to future training if you need to cancel within 30 days.
Lunch and water is the rider's responsibility.
To make sure that everyone gets the time and attention they need, we limit our classes to 20 riders per instructor. Usually, it is under 20 riders total. If there is a lot of demand, we will go up to 30 riders, but bring in another of our coaches from The MX Factory ATX.
Because we take a technique first approach, we are able to cater to all skill levels and all riding styles.
Yes. Yes. Yes. Woods riders might honestly have MORE to gain from this class.
Rain Policy for In-Person Motocross Camps
At The MX Factory, safety is paramount. Riding in the rain can be an exhilarating experience, but there are limits.
1. Riding Conditions:
We are committed to conducting camps unless rain makes conditions unsafe for riders. The decision to continue or halt the camp due to rain will be at the sole discretion of The MX Factory team.
2. 1-Day Camps:
- Cancellation Prior to Start: In the event of rain, we will try to find a track within 90 minutes of the original track that is dry and able to operate. If we move tracks, we will not be offering refunds, so please be prepared in the event of rain to drive an additional 90 minutes. If weather forces us to cancel a camp before it begins, we will reschedule the camp to another available date. If you cannot attend on the rescheduled date, we will offer you a refund.
- Interruption After Start: If rain interrupts a camp that's already started, we regret that refunds cannot be issued due to incurred operational costs.
3. 2-Day Camps:
- Cancellation Prior to Start: In the event of rain, we will try to find a track within 90 minutes of the original track that is dry and able to operate. If we move tracks, we will not be offering refunds, so please be prepared in the event of rain to drive an additional 90 minutes.
If weather forces us to cancel a camp before it begins, we will reschedule the camp to another available date. If you cannot attend on the rescheduled date, we will offer you a refund. - Interruption After Start: If a 2-Day camp is already underway and gets disrupted by weather, no refunds can be provided.
Yes, the date on the site it correct. Often, we have to schedule clinics during the week, because scheduling on the weekend with tracks is very difficult. A lot of our students play hooky to get out of school or work to join us for the day.
Tyler Livesay is the owner of The MX Factory. You might’ve seen him on our YouTube channel with over 475,000 subscribers or giving riding tips on Instagram. He has been racing and winning dirt bike races since he was 5 years old. He has trained with the likes of James and Malcolm Stewart for many of his early years, along with a slew of other very fast professional riders. Tyler began his coaching journey teaching motocross lessons at Cycle Ranch MX near San Antonio in 2012, where he not only transformed the local riding scene by pushing and guiding riders to reach their potential and beyond, but he’s also come to be known as the dirtiest scrub thrower east and west of the Mississippi River. Tyler's racing speaks for itself as well by qualifying for the 2014 Houston Supercross and also nailing down several top 10 finishes in the 2014 AX Series. He has also qualified and raced at multiple pro nationals. You want results? Tyler can get you to your goals plus some.
You can register from the time the date is posted until the night before the clinic as long as it is not sold out.
As long as the clinic isn't marked at "Sold out," there are spots for you!
Go Beast Mode is an option you can add to your ticket to receive a 1.5 hour semi-private lesson with Tyler Livesay to cover anything you'd like with a maximum of 3 riders. This lesson will begin shortly after our main rider debrief session. You'll also get an MXF rope hat and t-shirt included in your registration!
